What bespoke means
A bespoke or made-to-order item may include a custom size, custom finish, personalised wording, customer-approved design, customer measurements, a handmade WoodCreation design or bought-in components used as part of the finished item.
Handmade character
Wood is a natural material. Small differences in grain, colour, texture, knots, pattern, finish and appearance are normal.
These differences are part of handmade wooden products and do not usually count as faults.
Bought-in components and hardware
Some WoodCreation products may include bought-in components or hardware, such as bowls, mattresses, fixings, hinges, handles or fitted parts.
Where these components are supplied as part of the product, they form part of the item supplied by WoodCreation.
If a bought-in component supplied as part of your order appears faulty, damaged or not as described, contact WoodCreation.
Customer information and measurements
For bespoke work, customers must provide accurate information, measurements, photos, drawings, reference images, wording, finish preferences and intended-use details.
WoodCreation is not responsible for problems caused by incorrect customer-supplied measurements, spelling, wording, references or instructions after those details have been approved.
Design approval
Bespoke work must be approved before construction begins.
Before approval, check size, wording, layout, colour, finish, design details, delivery details and any special requirements.
Once approved and sent to the workshop, the order usually cannot be cancelled for change of mind.
Payment
Payment in full is required before construction begins.
WoodCreation will not usually begin bespoke or made-to-order work until payment has been received and the order has been approved.
Cancellations and refunds
If you want to cancel, contact WoodCreation as soon as possible.
If work has not started and materials have not been ordered or prepared, WoodCreation may be able to cancel the order.
Once approved and sent to the workshop, cancellation for change of mind is usually not available.
Refunds are mainly available where there is a manufacturing fault, WoodCreation has made a mistake, the item is not as described, the item is not fit for purpose or another issue has occurred that WoodCreation is responsible for.
This does not affect your legal rights.
Product care
Wooden products should be used and cared for sensibly. Avoid prolonged water, excessive heat, harsh cleaning chemicals, heavy impact, damp storage or unsuitable outdoor exposure unless the product is clearly described as suitable for that use.
Suggested approval wording
WoodCreation may ask you to confirm that you understand the item is handmade, made to order or bespoke, and that once approved and sent to the workshop it usually cannot be cancelled for change of mind.
